Record Mode is optimized for continuous long-session audio logging—such as capturing client calls, standing status syncs, lectures, or video tutorials. Escribolt transcribes the session and saves structured notes.
Two Audio Capture Streams
Microphone Audio
Captures physical meeting rooms or your own continuous speaking input directly from hardware inputs.
System Audio Capture
Captures call participants from Zoom, Teams, Meet, or browser tabs. Set up loopback drivers in Settings to combine streams.
System Audio Loopback Troubleshooting
Capturing system audio (participants in Zoom/Teams calls) requires a compatible loopback driver setup. Please review the following guidelines:
- Electron SCK Limitations: In some macOS runtimes, Electron's internal ScreenCaptureKit loopback might be disabled or unreliable. If system audio fails, Escribolt suggests using a virtual audio device (such as BlackHole or Loopback) as an input source.
- Experimental Override: Advanced users can force-enable experimental Electron-based SCK loopback by launching Escribolt from the terminal with the environment variable flag:
ESCRIBOLT_EXPERIMENTAL_ELECTRON_MAC_LOOPBACK=1 open -a Escribolt
- Permissions: Ensure Escribolt has Screen Recording and Microphone permissions enabled under macOS System Settings (see macOS Permissions).
Audio File Importing
If you have pre-recorded meeting logs or audio files, you can upload them to Escribolt for local transcription:
- Open the dashboard and click the Upload Audio File button () in the sidebar.
- Select a supported audio or video format:
M4A,MP3,WAV,AAC, orMP4. - Escribolt queues the file, triggers the speech compiler, and loads the generated transcription into a new dashboard tab.
