Privacy is a structural design decision. In Local and BYOK modes, Escribolt locks your database to local folders. In PRO mode, notes sync securely across your devices.
Strict Privacy Mode (PRO Override)
If you upgrade to PRO mode but frequently work with highly confidential company meetings or sensitive records, you don't need to sign out. Instead, Escribolt features a Strict Privacy toggle.
Enable this override in Settings > Sync & Storage:
- All new notes, audio captures, transcripts, and summaries are locked to Local Device Storage.
- The cross-device synchronization daemon bypasses these designated files completely.
- A lock icon is displayed next to the note title in your dashboard sidebar to indicate local-only status.
- You can manually change the status of specific notes to "Cloud Synced" at a later time if you choose.
